Context
The Center for Green Market Activation™ (GMA) is a U.S.-based, globally oriented nonprofit accelerating the transition to zero-carbon goods and services in heavy industry and transport. Launched in 2024, GMA leverages book-and-claim systems, collective procurement, and buyers’ alliances to drive decarbonization in hard-to-abate sectors—from aviation to trucking to chemicals.

GMA takes work/life balance very seriously. Outside of stakeholder meetings, we will be as flexible as possible on work hours to meet your particular home life needs. Staff will be expected to work an average of 8 hours/day.
Location
Remote, contiguous United States (no AK or HI due to time zone). Applicant must currently live in and have the right to work in the United States. Preference will be given to applicants in CA, CO, DC, GA, MA, MD, MN, NH, NJ, NY, TX, WA.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
This position combines two roles.
Approximately 25-50% of time will be devoted primarily to supporting the CEO with calendaring, travel schedule, note-taking, meeting preparation, etc. Light EA support will also be provided to other senior leadership.
Approximately 50-75% of time will be devoted to providing analyst-level support to one of GMA’s Programs.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have great attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-driven environment. Candidate should have a strong interest in market-based approaches to corporate supply chain decarbonization and be excited to grow quickly into more responsibility for programmatic work.
Responsibilties will entail:
Executive Assistant
- Managing the CEO’s calendar, book travel, and assist with task management.
- Supporting Chief of Staff, Managing Director and Senior Director with scheduling as needed.
- Acting as a liaison between executives and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring proactive, professional communication and follow-up.
- Supporting the CEO in preparing for meetings, presentations, events, and special projects in coordination with the Chief of Staff.
- Coordinating logistics and materials for Board of Directors meetings and other in-person convenings.
- Occasionally assisting with organizing internal or external special events.
- Providing wide-ranging support to one of GMA’s programs: aviation, maritime, trucking, chemicals, cement & concrete, or standards (the AIM Platform).
- Perform basic research and analyses across a range of subject matter, by gathering data, assessing data credibility, performing accurate calculations and displaying results in a clear, concise way for senior team review
- Support for pilot procurement programs, including planning, stakeholder engagement and organization, and review and summary of results.
- Stakeholder meeting preparation support, including heavy PowerPoint slide development.
- Content development for short and long-form publications, including regular support for member company briefing materials and website content. Requires ability to explain complex technical information to a non-expert audience.
- Analyst may be asked to support other sectoral programs from time-to-time.
- Strong commitment to addressing the climate crisis and interest in supporting heavy industry decarbonization.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, environmental studies, sustainability, energy, or a related field.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong analytical and research capabilities.
- Comfort working in a remote, entrepreneurial team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Work experience focused on energy, climate change or sustainability
- Master’s Degree, ideally in engineering, environmental studies, sustainability, political science or a related field
- Salary: $70,000-$95,000 / year depending on location and qualifications
- Bonus: Eligible for up to 15% year-end performance bonus
