Dan serves as Program Director at GMA. He leads GMA’s new chemicals program, GMA’s ocean transport decarbonization work, policy and regulatory issues, and is an advisor for the AIM Platform. In these roles, Dan oversees program strategy and implementation, drives development of new partnerships, and provides expert technical guidance.
Before joining GMA, Dan led decarbonization programs, developed climate mitigation products, and developed greenhouse gas emission accounting and target setting methods at Smart Freight Centre (SFC), a transportation emission focused non-governmental organization. Before SFC, Dan led the development and adoption of sustainability strategy, greenhouse gas emission data management, and domestic and international environmental policy engagement for one of the largest US marine transportation and logistics companies. Dan has also managed environmental emergency response operations, environmental compliance, and contaminated site remediation, and supported the development of US federal pollution prevention regulations.
Dan has both a B.S. and an M.S. in environmental science and policy, and carries certifications in corporate citizenship leadership, strategic planning, and project management. He has served on several committees and advisory groups related to decarbonization of hard to abate sectors. He is based in Washington State.
