Kathy Alsegaf is a sustainability executive with more than 15 years of experience advancing climate strategy, ESG reporting, and environmental performance at global scale. She most recently served as the Global Chief Sustainability Officer for Deloitte where she led the firm’s climate strategy, greenhouse gas inventory, science-based net-zero goals, and sustainability disclosures. In her early tenure at Deloitte, she served clients as an environmental audit specialist and in capital projects consulting. Prior to Deloitte, Kathy held strategy and project development roles at Duke Energy. She began her career as a geotechnical engineer with GEI Consultants.
During her career Kathy interacted closely with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the World Economic Forum’s Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders, the World Wildlife Fund, and the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship. She currently serves on the Fairfax County Environmental Quality Advisory Council.
She holds an MBA from the University of Virginia, an SM in Civil Engineering from MIT, and a BSc in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and is a registered professional engineer, a LEED Accredited Professional and a Virginia Master Naturalist.
